Program Description
WIC is a USDA federally funded program that advances public health
by improving the overall nutritional and health status of pregnant,
breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants and children through
4 years of age. WIC's top priorities are to ensure that pregnant
women deliver a healthier baby and that WIC helps maintain the
healthier status of this infant through the preschool years.
WIC Provides
- Food checks for healthy foods redeemable at local state approved
vendors
- One on one nutrition counseling
- Support and help with breastfeeding
- Referrals to health care, immunizations, and other community
programs.
Program Credentials
Staff include Registered Dietitians and Registered Nurses.
