Preschool and Child Care

Kids Place conducts the Special Needs Preschool for Scott County School Districts I and II. Inclusive programming provides the opportunity for ALL children ages 3 to 5 to participate in preschool activities and productive play. Kids Place has two licensed teachers who participate in developing Individual Educational Plans (IEP’s) for each child with special needs. Children are enrolled in classrooms with his/her peers. In addition to the licensed teachers Kids Place has classrooms teachers and aides in each classroom. Inclusion programming allows all children to be integrated with children of varying skill levels. And it’s exciting to see “typical” developing children learn through their experiences with children. Children learn compassion, respect and understanding for each other more so than in a room full of children who develop at the same level. The benefits are numerous for everyone participating. The bottom line…ALL children have special needs and Kids Place is here to ensure that each and every child has ample opportunity to explore, learn, and enjoy his/her preschool years. Preschool years are crucial for cognitive and social development. And at Kids Place Kindergarten Readiness is a goal! The Indiana state approved CREATIVE CURRICULUM is used for Kids Place's preschool, based on “Foundations for Young Children” which was recently created by the State of Indiana to be a “framework” in preparation for Kindergarten.

Childhood Education

Kids Place offers early learning and play opportunities for two-year olds! Genuine care and nurturing offered by experienced staff. Kids Place prepares little ones for preschool. Early education and social development are important bridges in preparation for upcoming school years. A child’s work is demonstrated through his/her play. At Kids Place children are given the opportunity to participate in child-oriented, teacher-guided programming, which allows every child to build on his/her own unique individual skills and interests. Preschool Programming Available NOW

Kids Place currently has openings for children ages 2 years through second grade. Preschool days/hours are Tues. -Fri. 8:30-11:30. Children enrolled in overall child care receive preschool services, but Preschool Only programming is available as well. Recent expansion of the preschool classrooms means slots are available, but filling quickly! Kids Place is the only preschool contracted with Scott County School Districts I and II to provide classroom services to children ages 3 through 5 years with special needs.

New Hope Services, Inc. utilizes a diverse team of staff who have obtained degrees, experience and other professional training in a wide variety of fields to meet the needs of the persons we serve.

All Direct Care Staff are certified in:

• Universal Precautions

All full-time child care staff MUST attain CDA (Child Development Associate) completion by 18 months of employment.
