The Adult Community Empowerment Services program provides purposeful, goal oriented activities for adults with developmental disabilities, who may not be ready for work or want only vocationally-oriented training. Activities that occur on-site include self-care, life skills, art and gardening. Many outings also take place to introduce libraries, movies, museums, parks, and fairs. Learning to access community resources and use them properly, such as making a purchase, crossing the street and learning about safe strangers, are goals. The program operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. FAQS
