Family Support and Preservation is one of the largest programs provided by New Hope Services, touching the lives of some 800 parents, children and other family members. Family Preservation is designed to provide intensive services for Clark and Scott County families in their homes at the time of crisis. Family Preservation referral are made by the local Department of Child Services. The services are designed to prevent the removal of the children or reunify the family if the children have been removed. Services are comprehensive and family-focused to fit the individual needs of each unique family.
What is expected from Family Preservation?
- Family strengths are identified
- Services are immediate, comprehensive and intense. Case managers have flexible schedules to provide services to the family.
- Services are initiated with 5 days of referral.
- Twenty-four hour assistance will be accessible to families with an emergency.
- Emergency crisis calls will receive a response within one hour.
What are the goals of family preservation?
- Prevent the removal of the children or reunify the family.
- Reduce family's dependence on the Department of Children Services by teaching self-sufficiency.
