Disabled Adults Participate in Walking Club for Heart Month
Mike D. proudly holds up a certificate showing how many laps around the room he walked last month.
In honor of American Heart Month and to improve heart health, the staff and clients of ACES started a Walking Club. Several times a week participants are encouraged to “Get Up Off That Thing” and walk.
Musical motivation in various styles is used, and if you stop by you will probably hear someone singing along and see lots of dancing to the music.
They walked a combined total of 12.5 miles in February! Mike, at right, walked more than a third of a mile with the group.
ACES (Adult Community Empowerment Services) is our day program for disabled adults. Clients learn from simple games, puzzles, art and crafts.
